After Communion

The True Light
I have seen the true Light.
I have received the heavenly Spirit.
I have found the true Faith.
I worship the undivided Trinity
for having saved me.

Prayer of Thanksgiving
I thank You, O Master,
Lover of Mankind and Benefactor of my soul,
that even today, You have made me worthy
of Your heavenly and immortal Mysteries.
Make straight my path in life.
Make me firm in holy reverence for You.
Protect my life and secure my steps,
through the prayers and supplications
of the glorious Mother of God and ever-virgin Mary,
and of all Your Saints, for You are my sanctification,
and I give glory to You: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,
now and for ever and ever. Amen.

Prayer of Blessing
Selected verse from Psalm 33
I will bless the Lord at all times;
His praise shall be always in my mouth.
My soul shall glory in the Lord;
let the gentle hear and rejoice.
Glorify the Lord with me,
and let us praise His Name together.
I sought the Lord and He heard me;
from all my fears He set me free.
Come to Him and be enlightened,
and your face shall never be shamed.
The poor man cried out, and the Lord heard him,
and rescued him from all his distress.
The Angel of the Lord will encamp
around those who revere Him, and He will deliver them.
Taste and see that the Lord is good.
Blessed is the man who hopes in Him.
Revere the Lord, all you His saints,
for there is no want for those who fear Him.
The rich have become poor and hungry,
but those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.

Prayer of Joy
O Jesus, most-merciful and all good!
You have entered into my heart
and I am filled with Your joy today.
Live in me, Jesus, always!
I thank You, for this most wonderful gift!
I thank You, for allowing me to share in Your Life!
Glory be to You!

Prayer of Trust
Dear Jesus, give me the grace
to live with You here on earth
and to be with You in Your kingdom
for ever and ever.
I trust in You, O Lord.
Help me to do Your Will.

My God, I believe
My God, I believe in You, I adore You,
I hope in You and I love You.
I ask pardon for all those who do not believe in You,
do not adore You, do not hope in You and do not love You.
Lead Me to Heaven
Dear Jesus, keep me always close to You as long as I live.
Lead me to Heaven, so that I may love you there,
for ever and ever. Amen.

Bless me, O Lord Jesus,
as You have blessed all the children who came to You.
Bless me, as You blessed Your holy Apostles
when You ascended into heaven.
Most-holy Mary, Mother of God, bless me, your child.
Holy Guardian Angel, protect me and guide me.
for I belong to Jesus, my Saviour,
now and for ever and ever. Amen.

Prayer I
Author unknown
I thank You, O Lord my God, that You did not reject me a sinner, but deemed me worthy to be a partaker of Your Holy Mysteries. I thank You that, despite my unworthiness, You made me worthy to receive Your most pure and heavenly Gifts. O Master, lover of mankind, You died and rose for our sake and favoured us with these, Your awesome and life-giving Mysteries for the benefit and sanctification of our souls and bodies. Grant that They may be for the healing of my soul and body and for the rout of every adversary, for the enlightenment of the eyes of my heart, for the peace of my spiritual powers, for an undaunted faith, for an unfeigned love, for the fullness of wisdom, for the keeping of Your commandments, for growth in Your divine grace, and for belonging to Your kingdom, in order that, preserved by Them in Your holiness, I may always remember Your grace and no longer live for myself, but for You, our Master and Benefactor. Thus, when I depart from this life in the hope of life eternal, may I attain that everlasting rest where the sound of those celebrating never ceases, and where there is no end to the delight of those who behold the ineffable beauty of Your face. For You are the true object of desire and the indescribable gladness of those who love You, O Christ our God; and all creation sings Your praises for ever. Amen.

Prayer 2
St. Basil the Great (†379)
O Christ, our Master and God, King of the ages and Creator of all, I thank You for all the good things that You have given to me and for the reception of Your most pure and life-giving Mysteries. I pray You, therefore, O good Lover of mankind, keep me under Your protection in the shadow of Your wings. Grant that with a pure conscience, until my last breath, I may worthily partake of Your Holy Gifts, for the forgiveness of sins and for life everlasting. For You are the Bread of life, the Fountain of holiness and the Bestower of blessings, and to You we give glory together with the Father and the Holy Spirit, now and for ever and ever. Amen.

Prayer 3
St. John Chrysostom (†407)
Having been made worthy to partake in a mystical way of Your immaculate Body and precious Blood, O Christ our God, I acclaim and bless, worship and glorify You, and proclaim the greatness of Your saving acts, now and for ever and ever. Amen.

Prayer 4
St. John Damascene
God, my God, unextinguishable and invisible fire, You make Your angels flaming fire. Out of Your inexpressible love You have given me Your divine Flesh as food, and through this communion of Your immaculate Body and precious Blood You receive me as a partaker of Your Divinity. Permeate all my body and soul, all my bones and sinews. Consume my sins in fire. Enlighten my soul and illumine my mind. Sanctify my body and make Your abode in me together with Your blessed Father and all-holy Spirit, that I may always abide in You, through the intercession of Your immaculate Mother and all Your saints. Amen.

Prayer 5
Author unknown
Lord, Jesus Christ our God, may Your holy Body bring me everlasting life and Your precious Blood forgiveness of my sins. May this thanksgiving bring me joy, health and gladness. At Your awesome Second Coming make me, though a sinner, worthy to stand at the right hand of Your glory, through the intercession of Your immaculate Mother and all the saints.

To the Mother of God
Most holy Lady, Mother of God, light of my darkened soul, my hope, my protection, my refuge, my comfort and my joy, I am grateful that you have enabled me, unworthy as I am, to partake of the most pure Body and precious Blood of Your Son. You bore the true Light; give light to the spiritual eyes of my heart. You bore the Fountain of immortality; give life to me made dead by sin. Kind-hearted Mother of the merciful God, have mercy on me. Give me compunction, contrition of heart, and humility of mind. Recall me from the distractions of my thoughts. Enable me to receive without condemnation and to my last breath the most pure and sanctifying Mysteries for the healing of my soul and body. Grant me tears of repentance and confession so that I may praise and glorify You all the days of my life, for You are blessed and glorified for ever. Amen.

Silent Prayer and Thanksgiving
Give thanks to God in your own words. Share with God your joys and your hopes, your hardships and difficulties. Praise His holy name and give thanks for every grace bestowed upon you, both known and unknown.
